VGI Solutions, a leading provider of innovative geospatial solutions, announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has approved the issuance of a patent which covers core technology including georeferenced fault detection, storage and management system and method, based on an application server architecture, for monitoring cable leakage and ingress events on broadband cable networks.

The patent strengthens VGI Solutions’ intellectual property portfolio and provides the company with ownership of key innovations that address critical aspects of broadband network maintenance. The patented technologies are part of VGI Solutions’ CPAT^® leakage monitoring system, which was introduced in the U.S. at the Cable-Tec Expo 2007 in Orlando, Florida.
